The five inspiring things that kept me smiling this week.
1. Pretty trash cans all over Taboga
I asked around to try and find out who did this but couldn’t really get an answer from locals. I love the idea of taking something traditionally ugly and making it a little prettier and fun.
2. Ceiling vibes
Beautiful artwork always catches my eye and in Panama City I found it to be all over the place. Street art is alive and well all throughout the city; alleys, sidewalks, sides of buildings. This was obviously a commissioned piece but, again, the idea of taking something not usually given much attention and making it so beautiful makes me smile.
3. Dumbo Gets Mad
The recommended artists section of Spotify gifted me this jewel last weekend. If you want something smooth, I listened while cleaning and working out, then give Dumbo Gets Mad a try. Let me know what you think!
4. Positive notes on the longest travel day ever
The sweetest man in the Bocas airport told me my backpack was 2 pounds too heavy and then flipped the receipt over and said this was my payment 🙂 Travel days are always a bit stressful to me and this was the most amazing reminder that kindness is so easy and can make such a difference.
5. New Zealand’s Prime Minister
I have been reading so many articles about women in high positions just doing boss moves and the Prime Minister of New Zealand deserves a special shoutout this week. She had a baby this week which, while still impressive in itself, she was the first elected world leader to have a child while in office in over 30 years. I don’t think there are ever enough reminders that you can have your cake and eat it too ladies.
Sleeping in my bed last night was indescribable and I’m going to spend today enjoying Denver before jumping on a train tonight 🤪on to the next adventure!
I hope everyone has an amazing weekend! XxAbby
